Longship Experience Sharing: Insights Across the Full Project Lifecycle

Norway’s flagship CCS initiative, Longship, has delivered the world’s first full-scale CCS value chain – and now it’s time to share what that journey taught us. This session brings together three key players:
- Hafslund Celsio (Oslo CCS)
- Northern Lights
- Heidelberg Materials (Brevik CCS)
Each will present their lessons learned across the entire lifecycle – from early-phase planning and design to construction and start-up. The session will provide a structured overview of:
- Technical and regulatory challenges – and how they were solved
- What worked well, and what didn’t
- Measures that had the greatest impact on time, cost, and quality
- Financial hurdles and the path towards a viable business model/FID with VCR sertificate
- Topics for further improvement and cost reductions for following projects
It will combine individual deep dives on practical takeaways that others can reflect on and apply – whether you’re planning, building, or operating CCS projects.
Join us to understand what “first in the world” really means in practice – and how Longship’s experience can help reduce risk and accelerate the next wave of CCS deployment.
