Technology development
The Technology Center at Mongstad (TCM) has a unique position in testing and developing technologies for the capture of CO2. The test center puts new technologies and research into practice and contributes to increasing efficiency and reducing costs.
Testing is also necessary to uncover errors and deficiencies and ensures that the technologies for carbon capture can safely be applied.
The center has become a global arena for the development of new technologies, and the work conducted there builds the foundation for full-scale projects that could in turn lead to large reduction of CO2 emissions from industry.
Gassnova facilitates the sharing of these experiences between industries and professional communities/academic communities/sectors across the world.
TCM is currently owned by the Norwegian State, through Gassnova, together with the industrial partners Equinor, Shell and Total.
