Gassnova’s main objective:

Gassnova shall promote technology development and capacity building to enable cost-effective and future-oriented solutions for the capture, transport and storage of CO_₂.

In 2026 Gassnova will focus on:

CLIMIT&TCM&Longship Gassnova will act as a technical and strategic advisor to the Ministry on carbon capture and storage as a climate change mitigation measure, contributing to the effective exchange of expertise and learning. As part of its work, Gassnova will monitor technology and market trends related to CO₂ capture.

Keep track By 1 October, keep track of CO₂ management projects in Norway and report on the market situation.

Mapping Identifying opportunities to reduce CO₂ emissions in industry, with a particular focus on industrial clusters. The work should be seen in the context of the CO₂ management tools.

The public policy system Contribute to the study of policy instruments for CO₂ management, including further work on new instruments and measures for CO₂ capture.
